A recap of the past 2 months of life changes!!!
Hello!
Mostly we’ve been here. A recap of all the changes over the past 2 months!
We moved when I was 4 days postpartum. dumb + insane
We left our beloved surf shack at Pleasure Point + all our friends within walking distance (5 first born babies born in 1 year)
Elias started commuting 20 minutes instead of 1
My sis announced her pregnancy!!!
I started 75 hard!!!
We became stranded as we’re a 1 car family with a commute now!!!
Duh we welcomed our SWEET SWEET TRUMAN OLIVER!!!
How’s it been?
Reaaaalllllyyy depends on what you’re referring to. Moving that fresh post birth was brutal. I couldn’t help literally at ALL. Our friends + fam were total mvps but not being able to pack up or unpack our whole life was so hard + I still don't know where things are.
I had to be up and around way earlier than I should and thank goodness for swift healing this round but it was still so tough. 0/10 recommend.
The rest is the rest. I’ll do a full Truman update below but everything else has adjusted well.
I still see my friends👯♀️ (they come over a lot haha), we 🏄🏽♀️ every weekend just with a car instead of our bikes🚲, Elias loves the buffering time, and we just hike around the mountains in out slow little world.
BABY UPDATE
SLEEP. That’s what I always wanna know about. We’re sleeping GOOD. The system is we get in bed at 9 and get up at 8 and we both get 7-9 hours somewhere in between. Team work literally makes the dreams work.
A bottle before bed (freshly pumped)
Wake windows followed
Eat/play/sleep-ish
Co-sleeping mostly
4 hr stretch, 1-2-3 hr stretch, then more 1 hr stretches is the vibe
NURSING. Mostly good. I don’t really love it to be honest. Being so tied isn’t my strong suit and I don't love nursing in public. With all that I wouldn't do anything differently. He takes a bottle so thankfully I can leave for surfs or dates. But he's gaining tons of weight and the happiest baby alive so it's going fine! I plan on at least a year and then weaning hopefully. I successfully managed another slight oversupply doing exactly what I did with Rosie. Shall I share a post about that?
TEMPERAMENT. Holy canoli they come like this? All he does is smile and squirm and giggle and chat. This is SUCH a foreign experience after a colicky (hate that term) 1st born and I constantly think what is going on. He falls asleep on his own, is chill all the time, will sit in his carseat with a smile and I am grateful every second. When he does cry I’m like thank goodness ok you deserve a melt down!!!
LINKS
I said I’d share links & favorites on here when I initially made this so I’ll deliver! I rarely post commission links because it's too much work so just know these are real favs.
Shoes if your baby doesn’t want to wear real shoes
Anything else you need?

So happy to see you on here! I am currently going through a social media cleanse (everything except Substack + Pinterest) and loved seeing your content — I also am a SAHM with my first around Rosie’s age and just had my second about two months ago as well! 🤍
I definitely would be interested in your nursing routine to create a little stash for bottles. I love ebf but with my first, being tied down with nursing became hard on me mentally and would have loved a little flexibility.
